Rounds 1-4 Recap

After four rounds Derry were on top with maximum points, followed by Donegal, whose only loss came in round 4 to Derry. Sligo were tied on four points with London, having lost to Derry and Donegal and beaten London and Mayo. At the foot of the table were Mayo and Wicklow, who managed to draw with each other to salvage one point. London had two good wins over Mayo and Wicklow by 10 and 13 points respectively. Round 5 Recap

Derry won their fifth game straight, maintaining their 100% record, with a fairly easy win versus London (0-25 to 0-9), while Donegal and Sligo both made the Semi-Final with a victory over Mayo and draw with Wicklow respectively. [References: 2-4]

Relegation Playoff

Wicklow consigned Mayo to Roinn 3A Hurling for 2023 with a one point victory in the Relegation Playoff. [References: 4]

Semi-Finals

Sligo got the best of Donegal in a keenly fought contest with Sligo emerging one point victors. The Yeats County would go on to meet Derry in the Final [References: 4]

Final

Derry defeated Sligo by 1-23 (26 points) to 2-15 (21 points) to capture the GAA Allianz Hurling League Roinn 2B title. [Results and Fixtures References: 4]

About the GAA Allianz Hurling League Roinn 2B 2022

The GAA Allianz Hurling League Roinn 2B is the third level of Hurling in Ireland, after Roinn 1 and Roinn 2A. It features counties ranked 19-24 Nationally, with automatic promotion and relegation to and from Roinn 2A and Roinn 3A. It takes place in the first half of the year, with the GAA Hurling Christy Ring Cup (Level 3 Hurling Championship) taking place in the second half of the year.
