London were made to fight hard to defeat Hertfordshire by just two points at the Hertfordshire home in Watford in the GAA British Provincial SHC B Senior Hurling Championship on 24th May 1987. With the victory London went on to meet Carlow, the All-Ireland SHC B Home Champions, in the All-Ireland SHC B Senior Hurling B Championship decider for a shot at playing Antrim in the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship Quarter-Finals.
