GAA All-Ireland Junior Football Championship – JFC 2022 Scoreboard¹

New York GAA, the North American representatives, defeated All-Britain runners-up, Warwickshire GAA by five points in the first of the 2022 GAA Football All-Ireland Junior Championship JFC Semi-Finals, winning by 1-8 to 0-6. In the second semi-final Leinster’s Kilkenny GAA won by five points also against British opposition, 3-11 to 2-9 versus All-Britain Intercounty Champions London. Both games took place at the GAA Centre of Excellence in Abbottstown, Dublin 15.

The Final itself pitted the two winning semi-finalists against each other, with Kilkenny triumphing by nine points, 3-12 to 1-9 at Croke Park versus New York. The Final was played on Sunday, 10 July 2022, two days after the Semi-Finals, and on the same day as the GAA Football All-Ireland Senior Championship SFC1 Semi-Final between Dublin and Kerry at Croke Park. ²

About the GAA Football All-Ireland Junior Championship – JFC 2022

The 2022 GAA Football All-Ireland Junior Championship was the first following the re-structuring of the Junior Football Championship. The All-Ireland Junior Football Championship is the “Division 3” Gaelic Football Championship and prior to 2022 was primarily for Junior Level “Division 3” Adult County teams from Ireland.

From 2022 onwards it has been the All-Ireland Championship for ‘overseas counties’, with the winners and runners-up of the All-Britain Intercounty Football Championship progressing to meet New York GAA (and from 2024 United States GAA also) from North America, and Kilkenny GAA – a primarily Hurling county in Leinster.
