Comortas Peile na Gaeltachta (the Gaeltacht Football Championship) was first held in 1969 in Donegal, with Donegal teams winning most often in the recent years: Cloughnakeely in 2011, Kilcar in 2014 and Naomh Chonaill in 2016. An Gaeltacht won the title for Kerry in 2017, and in 2018 wolfe Tones won an historic first title for Meath.
